PBIA Instructor Profile Name: Kyle C Richard Born: Antigonish, Nova Scotia Work: I have been a proud member of the Canadian Forces (CF) for over 16 years. Of these 16 plus years I have been employed as an Instructor for over 8 years. While working in the CF I have recieved an Instructional Techniques Course, Advanced Instructional Techniques Course and have worked with hundreds of "students". Pool Certification: I am a Recognized Professional Billiards Instructor Assosciation (PBIA) Instructor and an International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) Certified Instructor. Pool History: I have played all types of pool games on and off for over 24 years. I have a 4 1/2' x 9 ' Black Crown table with Simonis cloth at my house. Three years ago I decided to set some goals and take my game a little more seriously. I took lessons, practiced daily, became an Instructor and my personal game has grown 25-30% in that time frame! My Cues: I presently play with a Predator cue with a 314 2 shaft and a Predator break cue. Best Wins/Finishes/Statistics: Leagues: This year I am playing in my 25th pool league. I have played in pool leagues in the following cities: Halifax, NS (11) Metro Pool League, Mixed Metro Pool League, BCA Vegas League Saint John, NB (1) BCA Vegas League Fredericton, NB (6) BCA Vegas League Toronto, On (1) APA League Brandon, MB (3) VNEA Vegas League, Cash League Cold Lake, AB (3) VNEA Vegas League
I have been to Las Vegas for the North American 8 Ball Championships on 6 separate occasions. The most money I have ever won in a tournament was in 2006 when I finished 1st in the Intermediate 8 Ball Division at the Western Canadian Championships earning $2000. Canadian Championships: I have played in the Canadian Championship in 4 separate years and had the following good results: 2010 - 7-8th in Amatuer 9 Ball, 9-12th in Open 8 Ball, 13-16th in Open 9 Ball 2011 - 5-6th in Amatuer 9 Ball, 25-32nd in both Open 8 Ball and Open 9 Ball, 17-24th in Open 10 Ball 2012 - I won over $1000 in cash and prizes from the NBBA to attend the Canadian Championships but I could not attend because of work responsibilities $%&^#*!!!!!!! 2013 - ......
Atlantic Events: 2012 - 4th Eastern Canadian 9 Ball Championships New Brunswick Events: 2010 - finished the season as #4 ranked player 2011 - finished the season as #2 ranked player, won my first ranking event, many top finishes 2012 - one 2nd place finish, two 3rd place finishes and a 5th place final ranking position to be determined...... Reason why I love the game: I love the game of pool for the personal challenge it represents to me and for the satisfaction that improvement brings. Over the years I have helped to run and organize pool leagues. I have been involved with the New Brunswick Billiards Association (NBBA) for a number of years. I have been the NBBA President for the last 3 years. It's only a matter of time..... !
